The following values are supported within PermittedUseType elements:
view - End user is permitted to view the resource online only.download - End user is permitted to download the resource for personal use only.share - End user is permitted to distribute a verbatum representation of the resource.remix - End user is permitted to use the resource in derivative works.public - Resource is public domain.Each value includes all permitted usage that is more restrictive (for example: share may also download and view).
The share and remix values may imply further usage restrictions such as educational use only. Special citations or required inclusion of other resources may also apply. The end user should be advised to consult any associated licensing documentation for specifics.
In most instances, a missing PermittedUseType element indicates that the view state is assumed. An empty PermittedUseType element is a syntax error.
